"I recently had a Right Total Hip Replacement at Mills Peninsula hospital under the care of Dr. Detch. The experience was much better than I could have imagined. Dr Detch did a less invasive anterior approach which made the recovery organic and much less painful than the posterior approach. I spent one night in the hospital and was walking pretty well using a walker for the first few days.. Pain control was not complicated and very well controlled. After 3 days, I no longer needed the walker to get around. After one week, I was taking daily short walks outdoors and on post-op day nine, I started driving again. I was off all pain medications by week three. I am now 5 weeks post op and I am very happy with the results. Dr Detch and his team are terrific. Thank you to all."
